Style Tips for Emo Girls in the year 2009

February 23rd, 2009

In many ways, dressing is harder for Emo girls than it is for boys–but it can be a lot more exciting too! The main to remember is that you must dress and look non-conformist. You can dye your hair the traditional black, or go for a stark blonde. A bog-cut is also good. Another good suggestion is to get horn-rimmed glasses (no thick, black frames please).

As for your clothes, for girls, skin-tight is the order of the day, regardless of how big or small you are. Generally, you should wear jeans or pants that are dark. Or, in place of pants, a goth-style skirt will work, as long as it’s tight enough. A banded-collar t-shirt is a good look to wear with the jeans or skirt. For shoes, most Emo girls go with Converses or Vans.

If you feel the urge, decorate them with pen or permanent marker. Finally, no Emo girl look is complete without black eyeliner and other dark makeup. Don’t overdo it though. These are the basics to achieve a proper Emo girl look.

The Emo hair style and cut are some of the most obvious symbols that people are into the whole Emo scene. In 2009 Emo hair styles are becoming increasingly common, although it is becoming more difficult to ascertain whether those with the hairstyle are true to the Emo scene or not. Emo hair is usually symbolized by a black coloring that is normally brought from a bottle. Boys and girls will both use highlights to add a bit of color through streaks. The other commonality is that both sexes will have their fringe hang down over one eye. There is though no set way for creating your Emo hair cut and style.

Emo style is also about the clothes worn, it is a generally dark look, although it should not in anyway be confused with the clothes worn by Goths. The other predominant aspect of Emo Style is tight pants, as worn by both Emo boys and Emo girls. A striped shirt will not go a miss, as well as the predominance of a few piercings.
