What is emo style

The Emo scene is increasing in popularity as we get deeper into 2009. Based originally around punk and rock it has now become much more “emotional” in its context, and there is the origin of the Emo scene name.

Emo Style

Music is of course important to the Emo scene but it is much more than just a like of certain types of music and is a whole lifestyle. Dress is now vital to the whole look and goes beyond even the clothes that are worn of the haircut that is sported. Getting into the Emo scene is nothing to be worried about, and although many people are sensitive they are not suicidal as is the typical stereotype portrayed by the media.

Style Tips for Emo Girls in the year 2009

In many ways, dressing is harder for Emo girls than it is for boys–but it can be a lot more exciting too! The main to remember is that you must dress and look non-conformist. You can dye your hair the traditional black, or go for a stark blonde. A bog-cut is also good. Another good suggestion is to get horn-rimmed glasses (no thick, black frames please).

As for your clothes, for girls, skin-tight is the order of the day, regardless of how big or small you are. Generally, you should wear jeans or pants that are dark. Or, in place of pants, a goth-style skirt will work, as long as it’s tight enough. A banded-collar t-shirt is a good look to wear with the jeans or skirt. For shoes, most Emo girls go with Converses or Vans.

If you feel the urge, decorate them with pen or permanent marker. Finally, no Emo girl look is complete without black eyeliner and other dark makeup. Don’t overdo it though. These are the basics to achieve a proper Emo girl look.
