Emo hair is long in the front and short in the back, so you have to have that length to make this work. Unless your girlfriend has been to cosmetology school, just get yourself on over to a professional stylist for a good cut. The cut should be short and spiky in the back with long bangs in the front that hang below your eyebrows. Your bangs should be angled with long layers. The hair around your ears should be angled too. Since black is the most common emo hair color, ask the stylist to dye it black. Then, if you want to, you can get creative with adding a streak or two of color. Most guys just stick to jet-black, but some will add streaks or even go blonde all over with black streaks.
